New features of Kotka published during recent iterations:

October 26

  • Tool to record and add new measurements in a more flexible way
  • Field to record specimen parts (bones, skin, antlers...)
  • Associated specimen taxa -field, which allows creation of associated specimen units automatically
  • Option to browse historical versions of specimen data
  • Option to search specimens by image count
  • Tools for testing Trimble's GPS service API (Trimble TerraFlex)
  • Small improvements and bug fixes

  • Cross-validation of Finnish municipality names and coordinates
  • Validation phase performance improvements, so that more specimens can be imported at one time
  • Finnish manual extended (search help, labelin standard, metadata help)
  • Kotka connected to FinBIF's new data warehouse (not public yet)
  • Kotka backend moved from Windows to Linux server
  • Bug fixes
