Sand lizard Lacerta agilis

Description

The sand lizard was discovered in 2014 in Southwest Finland as a new species for the country, and so far, only one small occurence is known in Finland. The typical habitats are a sand moor growing heather, an edge of a sand pit, or another sunny, dry, sandy place with dense vegetation. Sand lizards are day-active, and often they move among low vegetation, heathers in Finland, in search of food.
